Maschinengewehr MG 3 und MG 3A1 - Machinegun MG 3 and MG 3A1. The mate to the above manual, this is a Troop and Field Repair Manual, dated 2001, 56 pages.
If you need a manual with exploded diagrams for your parts kit, PDV 918 above is better, but this has many exploded parts diagrams in it too. This manual explains the lower level repairs such as how to change the bolt rollers (the easy way), adjust the sights, how the trigger, stock, and sight assemblies go together, how to use the recoil spring strength tester, the bore erosion gauge, MG3 combination tool, and the Receiver Repair Tool Kit that RTG Parts used to sell. It also shows several special tools for working on the MG 3, which is of course, the modern version of the MG42. This manual isn't as high-end as the wartime dated armorer's manual (above), but it still has enough details to make this a valuable source for knowing how to repair the MG.
This manual will be particularly useful if you have any of the 3 tool kits the German armorer used for working on the MG3.
