Unteroffizierthemen - Ein Handbuch fur den Unteroffizierunterricht - Unteroffizier Subjects - A Handbook for the Unteroffizier Instruction. From 1943, about 157 pages, with a wide array of information that the German NCO was expected to know about uniforms, ranks, salutes, and weapons, so that he could teach it to the recruits.
This is not a manual for what the unteroffizier should do in combat to command his subordinates. It is a manual about the NCOs teaching the recruits, how they are to be taught, and what they need to learn. It does contain details about the operation of the MG34, 98k, light mortar, MP40, P38, Luger, and gas mask, but the bulk of the manual is about living the recruit life, and learning how to handle barracks life, guard duty, getting along with everyone, and proper military behavior. There is an emphasis placed on uniforms, shoulderboards, and insignia, and recognition of it, as well as medals, such as where on the uniform and when they're worn. This is not about anything related to combat training, other than the weapons information that every unteroffizer needs to know.
In some places, the manual gives a list of what is to be taught, but doesn't actually say specifically what is to be said about the subject. The instructor would already know the details and limitations of the listed behavior, and so many subjects are given, but not all the details about each subject. E.g.: "discuss the leave pass (are there train limitations?) is listed as a subject to be discussed, but when, how, and under what circumstances you're not allowed on the express train isn't given
