This is an English translation of an original German Army issue Zeltbahn (triangular shelter section) manual. This cover is dated from 1932, but the revision updates listed inside the back cover of this manual show it to be current to Oct. 26, 1942. This manual was the officially issued manual for the German Heer and land-based Kreigsmarine units.
The details of manufacturing, waterproofing, and inspection are impressive in this manual. It contains the full requirements for making a Zeltbahn, right down to the weight of the rope tied at the corners. It includes specs for the tent poles and pegs, locations of the button holes, even the proper thread used to sew on the buttons.
